Customer Care Advocate

Position Summary

The Customer Care Advocate provides exceptional service and support to customers by phone and other communication channels. This seasonal role is responsible for processing orders, handling payments, assisting with light sales needs, and ensuring each customer interaction reflects the values of King + Cross Companies. This position may include a work-from-home option and operates within standard 8 a.m.–5 p.m. CT, M–F business hours.

Key Result Areas

  • Deliver excellent customer service by phone
  • Process payments, order adjustments, and light sales transactions
  • Enter orders received via phone, fax, mail, or internet in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and customer-focused demeanor
  • Work effectively in an office or home environment
  • Maintain availability during business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CT

  • Team oriented with the ability to balance individual and group responsibilities
  • Flexible scheduling: must be available for a minimum of 12–15 hours per week and able to work a.m. and p.m. shifts as needed
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of three months of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Keyboarding proficiency of at least 25 wpm; experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Customer service experience required; call center experience preferred
  • Effective at navigating web-based tools and applications
  • Commitment to supporting the King + Cross Companies’ core values and vision

Details

Seasonal employment is based upon hours available and not limited only to a specific season. Though part-time or full-time hours might be achieved at times throughout the year, the employee’s status remains seasonal.

  • Hours: Flexibility available; up to 40 hours per week during peak seasons; open between 8 a.m.– 5 p.m. CT, Monday–Friday
  • Pay: Hourly $15.00
  • Benefits: Possibility of accruing PTO
